Barrett Courting Liberal Support in Wisconsin

And Erpenbach might not be the only high profile endorsement Barrett scores this week. In an interview with Salon, former Rep. David Obey seemed to signal his support for Barrett, who is generally thought to have a stronger general election appeal than Falk:

"We don't have any luxury but taking someone with the broadest possible appeal," he said. "We've got to nominate somebody who has the broadest possible ability to carry the fight to Walker. We can't conduct ourselves like we're the permanent president of the Optimists' Society."

Obey said he will publicly endorse a candidate in the next few days.
