How 'Bout Them Cowboys!

Troy Aikman and Daryl "Moose" Johnston are used to being on the same team. The former quarterback and former fullback led the Dallas Cowboys to three Super Bowl championships in the early 1990s, and they have both worked as NFL broadcasters for Fox since leaving the league. But politics has landed the pair on opposing sides.

Johnston endorsed the long-shot candidacy of fellow NFL alum Craig James on Tuesday in Texas' Senate race. But Aikman and a host of other former Cowboys, including Hall of Famer Roger Staubach, are backing former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert in the crowded Republican primary. Johnston was part of the original group of former Cowboys that endorsed Leppert last year, but he switched his allegiances once James jumped into the race.

Meanwhile, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones donated $2,500 to the frontrunner, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, according to Dewhurst's year-end financial report.

No word yet if Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin or Jimmy Johnson plan on endorsing.
