Rep. Miller Won't run for Governor of North Carolina

"Although my determination to hold elective office appears now to be in remission, I may seek elective office again. And I will certainly support other energetic and determined candidates for office," he said. The Democratic gubernatorial field currently includes Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton, former Rep. Bob Etheridge, and state Rep. Bill Faison. Several prominent Democrats have removed themselves from consideration including Miller, Rep. Heath Shuler, Erskine Bowles, Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx and Attorney General Roy Cooper. The GOP frontrunner in the race is the party's 2008 nominee, former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory.
