3) Former Rep. Bob Etheridge has decided to join Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton and state Rep. Bill Faison in the North Carolina's governor's race Democratic primary. The past week and a half has been more notable for the number of major names who have removed themselves from the mix: Attorney General Roy Cooper, Erskine Bowles, Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx. 2) In an interview with Jon Ralston, Mitt Romney walked back comments from earlier in the week, when he said he was not concerned about the very poor. "It was a misstatement; I misspoke," Romney said. Regardless, Romney is well-positioned to win the Nevada caucuses on Saturday, following his victory in Florida on Tuesday. 1) Here's something that will only ramp up buzz that Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is carefully positioning himself for a vice presidential bid: Buzzfeed reports that he spent more than $20,000 for to do research on himself.
