FEC Takeaways: The Freshmen Are Fundraising Fine

It's not all rosy news for the minority party, though: Some of the money Democratic candidates raised in the fourth quarter will be spent not on running against Republicans, but on member-versus-member primaries forced by redistricting. Two of House Democrats' top 12 fundraisers last quarter -- Michigan Rep. Gary Peters and California Rep. Howard Berman's party-best haul of $1 million -- are running against fellow caucus members, and Democrats have six of those contests to navigate, twice as many as Republicans.
