Sounding The Obama Alarm

What's more, liberals aren't thrilled with a lot the White House has done lately; some have even threatened to sit on their hands come next year. That's easy to say when their president appears to have a clear path to victory. But, faced with the prospect of a President Romney or a President Perry, it's a lot easier for the campaign to motivate even their downtrodden supporters. The goal of sounding the alarm now is to warn Democrats that victory is not guaranteed, and that activists need to suit up, and pony up. Obama's prospects are neither as bright as his supporters believe nor as dour as Republicans want to think. But he's got to get his legions of volunteers on the battlefield first. That may be the goal of the Chicken Little tone we're seeing in recent days.
