Bachmann Not Eyeing Klobuchar Challenge

+

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) speaks at the 'Values Voter Summit' on September 17, 2010 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.(Chet Susslin)

In Iowa, Bachmann snagged Drew Cline, who has ties to the evangelical Christian community, a key constituency among Republican caucus voters there; In New Hampshire, radio personality Jeff Chidester has signed on to help "with some of the basic organizational PAC stuff-- scheduling and hiring," Andy Parrish, Bachmann's chief of staff, told On Call. Chidester has been a presence in New Hampshire politics "for many, many years," Parrish said. Asked her own poll question--"Are you satisfied with the current field of GOP presidential candidates?"--Bachmann implied that she isn't. She has yet to see surface "a principled, solid constitutional conservative," she said. "The country's in a situation right now where we can't take an establishment candidate from either party," Bachmann continued. "We need someone new and different and bold who's going to say what they mean and mean what they say and do it, even if it means being a one-term president. And that's what I'm willing to do."
