Neumann Eyes Race Against Kohl

Kohl has not yet announced whether he will be running again in 2012. Neumann said the political climate is "completely polarized" in the state but rejected the notion that there will be a backlash against Republicans in the state in 2012, despite the numerous recall efforts against GOP legislators, and a very close state Supreme Court race featuring a Democratic-backed candidate once thought to have no shot. "Our side showed up just as much as the other, which tells me they are very motivated as well," he said of the Supreme Court race. And Neumann expressed confidence in a victory by GOP-backed Justice David Prosser, who currently leads Democratic-backed challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg by about 7,500 votes. "If I were a betting person this morning, I would bet on there not being a recount," Neumann predicted.
