3) Fresh off winning the Conservative Party's backing, Republican Jane Corwin is up with her first television ad in NY 26, a spot that seeks to underscore her small business credentials. Meanwhile, Democrats don't yet have a nominee. 2) After Heller made his Senate bid official Tuesday, he picked up endorsements from Gov. Brian Sandoval (R) and Lieutenant Gov. Brian Krolicki (R), who is mulling a run for the congressman's House seat. But there's an Angle lurking in the background. 1) Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) said "we need to look at" scaling back the U.S. troop presence in Afghanistan. Barbour: "I don't think our mission should be to think we're going to make Afghanistan an Ireland or an Italy" or a Western-style democracy." Quite the break from the rest of the Republican presidential field, but it comes as several polls show a clear majority of Americans support pulling troops out Afghanistan. --Jessica Taylor contributed to this post.
