"I've got pretty close to a 95 percent American Conservative Union voting record for the 34 years I've been there. You have some who get here and have 100 percent from two years, and then they think they're perfect. I say do it over 34 [years] and see how that goes." Though he had to duck out before the event finished "due to a scheduling conflict," Hatch stayed longer than the two founding members of the House and Senate Tea Party Caucuses: Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.)
