Anuzis has not filed forms with the IRS or the FEC, and there is no requirement that anyone running for RNC chairman do so. In 2009, among the six candidates who mounted serious campaigns, only Michael Steele created a committee dedicated to winning the job. Money raised by the candidate committees can be used for travel, as candidates meet with members in their home states, and for staff and consultants. Steele himself has not said whether he will run for a second term as chairman.
