Ohio's Mandel Compared to LeBron, And Not In the Good Way
Today is another lousy sports day in Cleveland, a place that's seen its fair share of them, and then some. And then some more.
If you haven't heard [spoiler alert], LeBron James and his Miami Heat won the NBA championship Thursday night. The same LeBron who two years ago made global headlines by spurning--in humiliating fashion via a national TV broadcast--his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in favor of South Beach.
In the minds of many Northeast Ohioans, James was instantaneously transformed into History's Greatest Monster--and the last thing he deserved was validation in the form of a ring. Justice, however, had other plans.
But if one can't beat LeBron, one can, at least, exploit the hole he left in hearts of the faithful he abandoned. And a super PAC in Ohio backing Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown has put up an ad that links Brown's opponent in November, Josh Mandel, to the Hated One.
