Republican complaints over contraception are “totally out of touch with reality,” Vice President Joe Biden said on CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday.
"I just find it remarkable that the argument is even taking place," Biden said. "I think it's totally out of touch with reality."
Biden said it was true he advised the president against the rule, which required employers--including religious organizations--to use health plans that cover birth control free of charge. Some Republicans have cast the issue as one of religious freedom.
However, Biden also said the president “ended up exactly where he intended,” which is to ensure, “every woman in America should be able to have insurance coverage for birth control if she so chooses.”
