LaVerne Saulny, a native of Homer, Louisiana, joined Senator Landrieu's team in January 2002. She attended Louisiana State University Shreveport, where she majored in Forensic Psychology and was an Institute of Politics (IOP) Fellow of Loyola University. Prior to joining Senator Landrieu's staff, LaVerne founded "Write For You," a consulting firm that provided management and development consulting to non-profit organizations and corporations. While operating "Write for You," LaVerne wrote two books, Tips on Successful Grantwriting and Steps on How to Run a Profitable Home-based Business, which was featured in Essence Magazine. LaVerne has received numerous awards, including- National Who's Who Among Executive Females, The Power Generation 40 under 40 Top Business and Community Leaders in New Orleans and 1998 Advocacy Woman of the Year. She's an active member of the Greater New Orleans Junior League.
