This Week In Ads:

New ads for the week of 9/3/07:

Headlines and Punchlines:

Can't wait for the late-night shows? We try to find some humor in today's headlines:

  • Thompson's announcement ad will run on his website through tomorrow, at which point it will quit.
  • "Least Religious Candidates Lead Primary Field." Heaven may move up its primary as a result.
  • Producers of the new Jimmy Carter documentary are hoping for a "global hit." Perhaps something along the lines of the Iran hostage crisis.
  • Democrats appear to have decided on a new approach to the war. They're done with playing "hard to get.”
  • Asked about progress in Iraq, Bush said, "We're kicking ass." Then he turned on "Family Guy," and fell asleep.

Got a question for our producer, Nora McAlvanah, or an idea for the show? Send us an email at HotlineTV@nationaljournal.com. We'll pull it out of our next mailbag.

Available via Webcast, a new edition of HotlineTV appears each Friday. Click here for the full episode of this week's HotlineTV.
