The Editors at The Wall Street Journal surveyed the post-Super Tuesday political landscape and declared that Rick Santorum “did well enough to more than justify staying in the race.”
Writing in an editorial that Republican leaders are probably disappointed that the 10 contests on Tuesday failed to settle the race definitively, the paper notes that Romney had a good night but that conservative doubts continue to plague him, as evidenced in Oklahoma and Tennessee, where the former Massachusetts governor made large media buys but ended up losing.
The paper also wrote that Santorum has found a new opening to attack Romney on the "Romneycare" health plan he supported in Massachusetts, following recent reports that Romney supported an individual insurance mandate in federal law.
