Trump to be Lone 'Judge' at Debate

Donald Trump, the billionaire business tycoon and former presidential contender, told MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Tuesday that he will be the only moderator in the Republican debate he is planning.

“I think I would be the lone judge,” said Trump, referencing his performance as a judge at the Miss Universe contest. “And that’s the way it seems—just a good old-fashioned debate.”

So far, Trump said, only Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich have signed on to debate, and Mitt Romney has declined.

But Trump said that Romney called him to say he was simply too busy to attend and would still like his support.

“He wants my endorsement. He wants it very badly,” Trump said. Trump said he was surprised that Romney turned down his invitation to the debate, because his being a moderator is sure to bring good ratings.
