No tie in Iowa: Rick Santorum has now been declared the winner of the state's Jan. 3 caucus.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that the former Pennsylvania senator had topped Mitt Romney by 34 votes. But at the time, the Republican Party of Iowa declared the results to be a tie. Romney was originally declared the winner, by an 8-vote margin.
But in a statement issued just before midnight Eastern time, the Iowa Republican Party, "in order to clarify conflicting reports and to affirm the results," declared Santorum the winner.
