Fox News projects Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney won the Idaho caucuses on Tuesday night, buoyed by the state’s sizable Mormon population.
The victory capped wins earlier for the former Massachusetts governor in Virginia, Vermont and his home state of Massachusetts.
Romney drew 2,200 people to a rally in Idaho Falls – a large crowd for any state. About a quarter of Idaho residents are Mormon and Romney has a family tie to Idaho – his father once lived there.
