Romney to Participate in Monday Debate

January 21, 2012 | 12:32 p.m.

Mitt Romney—and the rest of the GOP presidential field—have confirmed their attendance at Monday night's debate in Tampa, NBC News said on Saturday.

Romney's attendance at the debate was uncertain, according to his advisers. The debate is sponsored by NBC News, National Journal, and the Tampa Bay Times.

"Florida has often been the stage for history in politics—we look forward to hosting a substantive and stimulating forum for the candidates to make their case to the voters in this crucial state and the whole country,"  NBC News Senior Vice President of Specials Mark Lukasiewicz said in a statement.
