CAMPAIGN 2012

Romney Pulls In $24 Million in Last Quarter

January 11, 2012 | 10:06 a.m.

Coming off his victory in New Hampshire on Tuesday night, Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign told the New York Times on Wednesday that it raised $24 million in the last quarter of 2011, bringing its total to $56 million –- besting the $50 million fundraising goal the campaign had set for the primary campaign.

The paper also reported that Romney headed into the new year with more than $19 million on hand, putting the frontrunner in a strong position headed into South Carolina’s Jan. 21 primary.

Also giving Romney a boost down South is the super PAC backing his candidacy, Restore Our Future, which is spending heavily on South Carolina television ads.
