The Romney campaign and its supporting committees raised $111.8 million in the first half of the October, the campaign announced on Thursday.

The amount the campaign raised from Oct. 1 to Oct. 18 is just $60 million less than it raised in all of September. This latest figure includes Romney for President, Romney Victory and the Republican National Committee.

The campaign now has approximately $169 million cash-on-hand. The campaign said in a release that 91.7 percent of all donations were $250 or less, coming from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

This fundraising jump could have come after Romney’s strong performance in the first presidential debate on Oct. 3. Both campaigns are conducting heavy fundraising drives to buy ad space for the remaining two weeks until Election Day.

The Obama campaign did not immediately return a request for comment, although on Oct. 17 -- the day after the second debate -- it reported having its single most lucrative fundraising day ever.
