President Obama’s campaign has spent more than $135 million on operations through February, according to the Associated Press – about $3 million more than all the GOP presidential candidates combined.
As the GOP contenders battle it out in a long and expensive primary, the president has quietly sunk a small fortune into his re-election campaign. Campaign filings show more than 330 paid staffers in Chicago, the campaign’s headquarters, and 200 more across the nation. Payroll costs exceeded $6.3 million in the last two months alone.
The Obama camp had had $84.7 million in cash on hand on Feb. 29, the AP reports.
