Mitt Romney will receive another high-profile endorsement on Thursday, this time from the head of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Rep. Pete Sessions is among three Texas Republicans who will back Romney’s bid for the GOP nomination on Thursday. In a statement, Sessions said Republicans “must unite behind the one candidate who can lead our party, win in November, and put in place conservative pro-growth policies to restart our economy.”
He continued, “Texans can be sure that they will have a friend of job creators with Mitt Romney in the White House.”
Joining Sessions in a Romney endorsement Thursday are Reps. John Carter and Mac Thornberry. Romney was in Houston last week to receive the endorsement of former President George H.W. Bush. Texas Gov. Rick Perry endorsed Newt Gingrich upon dropping out of the race in January.
Romney’s chief rival Rick Santorum has said that he is staying in the Republican race through April to compete in the Texas primary on May 29, where he could secure a large cache of delegates.
