Report: Michelle Obama’s 2010 Spain Trip Cost $467,000

Judicial Watch, a right-leaning watchdog group, has estimated that First Lady Michelle Obama’s 2010 trip to Spain cost taxpayers $467,585.

The report is based on documents obtained from the Air Force and the Secret Service, according to The Daily Caller. It cost the government $199,323 just to fly the party – which included the first lady, one of her daughters, two friends, four of their daughters, and several staff members -- to Spain and back to the United States.

“It is hypocritical for President Obama to fire GSA officials for wasteful conference spending, while his family went on a luxury vacation in the Costa del Sol Spain that cost taxpayers nearly half a million dollars,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
