QUICK TAKE: Gingrich to Obama: You Only Want to Keep Power

President Obama is concerned only about staying in power and keeping money out of the hands of people responsible for jump-starting the economy, Newt Gingrich said in a statement on Tuesday night in reply to the State of the Union.

“For the president and a large part of the political class, it’s about their power, their right to rule. They just want to take money from Joe the Plumber -- the small business people who makes over 90 percent of the new jobs -- and redistribute it to the government bureaucracy and their political friends and allies," Gingrich said.

Gingrich, coming off a Republican presidential primary win in South Carolina and locked with Mitt Romney for the lead in the race, focused his attack on the president's economic policies and called for an end to "destructive and costly regulatory systems."
