Pro-Obama Super PAC Attacks Romney's Record at Bain Capital

A super PAC supporting President Obama’s re-election, Priorities USA Action, launched a TV and social media campaign on Tuesday to slam Mitt Romney’s record in the private sector, one day after the president's campaign launched a similar attack on Romney over his time at Bain Capital.

The television ad, entitled “Heads or Tails,” is the first in a $4 million campaign running in Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, according to Politico. The spot features Pat Wells, a former employee at a steel plant in Missouri under the control of Bain Capital, who lost his job even as Bain made millions of dollars.

“He promised us the same things he’s promising the United States,” Wells says. “And he’ll give you the same thing he gave us. Nothing. He’ll take it all.”

Priorities USA Action also launched a website,, as part of the attack.

The Romney campaign responded in an e-mail to National Journal on Tuesday. “This is another misleading attack from President Obama’s allies in attempt to cover up for the President’s broken promises," Amanda Henneberg, a Romney campaign spokesperson, wrote. "Instead of trying to explain 23 million Americans struggling for work, falling incomes, and out of control spending, the President’s allies have again resorted to distorting Mitt Romney’s record."

The Romney team went up with a counterattack, releasing a web video titled "A Few of the 23 Million" that slams the president on the his record on jobs.
