Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, a potential running mate to Mitt Romney, on Wednesday played down the idea that he might join the Romney ticket.

"I just got elected two years ago [to the Senate]," Portman told a CNN reporter in Denver. "I think that's where I'm going to end up staying."

Portman spent Wednesday stumping for the former Massachusetts governor in Colorado, fueling the possibility that Romney might announce his veep choice in the next few days.
