Director of the CIA David Petraeus is denying suggestions that he would be open to serving as Mitt Romney’s vice presidential pick, Politico reported.
CIA spokesman Preston Golson told Politico on Tuesday that, "Director Petraeus feels very privileged to be able to continue to serve our country in his current position and, as he has stated clearly numerous times before, he will not seek elected office."
The conservative Drudge Report reported on Tuesday that a “top fundraiser” had been told by President Obama that Romney may want to name Petraeus as his running mate, igniting a storm of Internet speculation about the prospect of seeing Petraeus on the Republican ticket.
