Ron Paul gained 83 votes on Mitt Romney in the Maine Caucus on Saturday, after a county in eastern Maine held their caucus that was postponed from last week, according to the Associated Press.
Mitt Romney, who was declared the winner of the statewide caucus last Saturday, still holds a 156-vote lead over Paul statewide. In this most recent contest, held in Washington County, Paul received 163 votes, Romney received 80 votes, Rick Santorum got 57 votes and Newt Gingrich got four votes.
Saturday's results will not necessarily become a part of the official statewide tally; the state Republican Party will make a decision next month.
Romney's thin victory in Maine has been called into question after reports that some results from the caucus got stuck in an e-mail spam filter.
