PAC+, a new pro-Latino super PAC, launched TV ads in Arizona on Thursday that are critical of Mitt Romney, according to the Los Angeles Times.
In the spot, Romney is pictured together with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, two polarizing Arizona politicians who are unpopular in many Latino communities. Both have backed Romney.
The ads come as Romney is trying to court Latino voters, airing campaign ads and issuing press releases in Spanish, and speaking before Latino groups.
The choice of Arizona was strategic. The state has been a battleground for minority issues, with challenges to its tough immigration law currently before the U.S. Supreme Court.
