Obama Makes One-on-One Pitch in New Ad

President Obama makes a personal pitch to voters in the campaign’s latest television ad, asking them to make a choice between two different approaches to government.

The 60-second spot, “The Choice,” shows the president one-on-one with the camera for a majority of the ad, telling viewers, “Over the next four months, you have a choice to make. Not just between two political parties, or even two people. It’s a choice between two very different plans for our country.”

Although the tone is calm, Obama does lay out differences between his policies and those of Mitt Romney, saying the presumptive GOP nominee’s policies match those that “caused the mess in the first place.”

“Sometimes politics can seem very small,” the president says. “But the choice you face, it couldn’t be bigger.”

The ad will run in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The Obama campaign did not immediately respond to requests for information about the scope of the buy.

The Romney campaign continues to attack the Obama campaign over the president’s “you didn’t build that” comment, saying Obama’s policies have hurt small businesses.
