Obama Campaign Releases New Long-Form Web Ad

New video ad highlights the president's first-term accomplishments.

The Obama campaign released a new long-form web ad on Monday, highlighting the president’s accomplishments in his first term.

From killing Osama bin Laden to touting credit card reform, the campaign's new 7-minute ad, called “Forward,” paints the president as a strong commander in chief—and legislator-in-chief—with a combination of pivotal news reports and presidential addresses.

Toward the beginning of the ad, showing video of tea party activists, the narrator says, “Some said America’s best days were behind us. But like America, he dug deep, fought back, and never lost faith in our ability to meet the challenge.”

The ad highlights several of the president’s economic programs, including the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act and the bailout of the auto industry, crediting Obama for saving or creating millions of jobs. “Don’t bet against the American worker,” says Obama, an oft-used quote in this campaign.

The ad also mentions the 2010 heath care law and the repeal of "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell," but does not make reference to Mitt Romney.

In March, the campaign released its 17-minute “documentary” that highlighted accounts from top administration officials and Bill Clinton.
