Sen. John McCain said Mitt Romney's campaign is moving beyond the “setback” of Tuesday night, when it lost three contests that did not award delegates, and focusing on primaries that award delegates immediately.
“To call it wide open I think it is a little bit inaccurate,” the Arizona Republican said on CNN’s Starting Point. “We have resources and the ground strength. The Romney campaign is taking nothing for granted, but I don't think it's wide open.”
Later on Fox & Friends, McCain, who has endorsed Romney, drew parallels to his presidential run four years ago where he lost 19 states and still won the nomination.
“I'm not the role model for the Romney campaign because I lost,” McCain said on Fox. “But I did lose 19 states and yet, we were able to come together. And I believe we will and we'll unite behind Mitt Romney.”
