President Obama’s super PAC totals just got a substantial boost on Thursday night from comedian Bill Maher’s checkbook.

In his stand-up special “CrazyStupidPolitics,” Maher presented the $1 million check he wrote to Priorities USA Action. The event, which was live streamed on Yahoo!, was held in San Jose, Calif.

“I would like to tonight announce a donation to the Obama Super PAC—which has the very unfortunate tongue-twister name ‘Priority (sic) USA Action’,” Maher said, according to CNN. “I know, it was named by Borat. But tonight I would like to give that PAC one million dollars.”

The pro-Obama super PAC only raised about $59,000 in January, according to FEC reports. Open Secrets estimates that the group’s fundraising totals are closer to $4.5 million.
