Senator Lindsey Graham. R-S.C., called Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., a liar on Sunday for comments Reid has made about Mitt Romney's taxes.

"I think he's lying about his statement of knowing something about Romney," Graham said on CNN's State of the Union.

Reid has said he heard from a source that the former Massachusetts Governor paid no taxes over the past 10 years, an allegation that has caught fire in the past week as Romney's taxes, and his refusal to release more than two years of documentation, return to the center of the election. Reid repeated the allegations on Thursday during a speech on the Senate floor, a move that many Republicans derided as unabashedly political and inappropriate.

When asked if he thought the Senate Democratic Leader was a liar, Graham repeated: "I really do."

"I think he's created an issue here. I think he's making things up, at a time when the country is just about to fall apart," he said, adding that Reid was "quite frankly making things up to divert the campaign away from the real issues."
