Gingrich Campaign $1.2 Million in Debt

The presidential campaign of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is in poor financial shape, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Gingrich's campaign has $1,192,865.82 of debt and just $353,416.71 cash on hand as of Sept. 30.

During the third quarter, which lasted from July 1 to Sept. 30, Gingrich raised $807,962.45. His campaign spent $776,767.90.

Gingrich's fundraising numbers are a steep decline from the second quarter, when Gingrich raised $2,102,916.13. As of June 30, Gingrich had $1,030,627.82 and slightly less cash on hand: $322,222.16
