Cain Raises $2.8 Million During Third Quarter

Herman Cain raised $2,813,341.52 during the third fundraising quarter, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission.

The Cain campaign spent $1,967,152 during the quarter, which runs from July 1 to Sept. 30. The race's new frontrunner has $1,333,778.56 in the bank. The campaign is $675,000 in debt.

The FEC report indicates that Cain's fundraising has picked up in recent months. An earlier report, amended on Saturday, indicated that he raised $2,567,499.87 between Dec. 27 and June 30.
