Former President Clinton appeared alongside President Obama Sunday at a fundraiser for Obama’s re-election campaign, the first of at least three joint fundraisers. The second of the joint fundraisers will be in New York, National Journal’s Major Garrett has previously reported.
“You guys get two presidents for one, which is a pretty good deal,” Obama said, according to pool reports. Obama and Clinton both both went after presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney in their remarks.
The joint fundraiser took place at the McLean, Virginia home of Clinton backer and former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe. McAuliffe’s support marks yet another tie between Obama and the Clintons.
