Biden Touts Economic Recovery, Blames Republicans

Vice President Joe Biden said on Sunday that the economic recovery is still making progress but Republicans have been standing in the way.

“This is not slower than a significant financial recession. This is the greatest recession in the history of America,” he said on NBC’s Meet the Press.

He said Republicans stood in the way of White House proposals to put firefighters and teachers back to work and are clinging to outdated policies. Biden said that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and the Republican Party have failed to address the needs of the middle class.

“The good news is these guys aren't hiding the ball this time,” he said. “They are saying exactly what they believe. They say they want the Ryan budget…which emasculates the very things that are going to allow us to grow this economy.”
