Despite a sixth-place finish in the Iowa caucuses, Rep. Michele Bachmann insists she is the Republican "who can and who will" defeat President Obama.
"What we need is a candidate in the likeness and image of a Ronald Reagan who has the bold differences necessary to take on a Barack Obama," Bachmann told supporters. "What we need is a fearless conservative, one with no compromises on their record."
"If anyone is confused: So we can defeat Barack Obama and his failed socialist policies, I believe that I am that true conservative who can and who will defeat Barack Obama in 2012," she said.
Bachmann warned the crowd to "be prepared" for pundits and press to pick the Republican nominee based on the Tuesday night results. "But there are many more chapters to be written on the path to our party's nomination," she said. "And I prefer to let the people of the country decide who will represent us."
