Republican officials repeated on Monday evening that their three-day convention schedule remains unchanged despite Tropical Storm Isaac’s approach toward the Gulf Coast.

“To reiterate, moving forward, there’s no change with the Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday schedule,” said Russ Schriefer, an adviser to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, on a conference call with reporters. “Obviously our thoughts are with people in the path of the storm.”

Isaac’s projected march to New Orleans has sparked speculation that the already shortened Republican National Convention in Tampa will force Republicans to alter the schedule further. But the Romney campaign has yet to publicly acknowledge any change is imminent.
