Former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will deliver the Pledge of Allegiance to the Democratic convention Thursday, CNN reports.

The news of the appearance, which was confirmed Thursday by a spokeswoman for Giffords, was first reported by Roll Call. Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly had been spotted in Charlotte this week.
