Dems Plan National Security Night at Convention

The Democrats are releasing more details about their convention next week, with The New York Times reporting on Wednesday that the Obama campaign will designate next Thursday – the night of President Obama’s acceptance speech – as a national security night.

The night will feature a speech from Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass, and will presumably contrast the president's record with that of Mitt Romney.

Democrats will also feature a religious leader who has been sharply critical of Obama in the past. Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan of New York, who is among those suing the White House over the administration’s provision that requires employers to cover birth control, will deliver the closing prayers at the convention, The Times reports.
