Ann Romney will kick off the Republican National Convention with a headlining speech on the opening day, CNN reports.

The wife of the presumptive Republican nominee has been popular on the campaign trail, playing a pivotal role among female supporters.

The formal announcement from the Republican National Committee is expected later on Monday.
